Summer Kitchen

A stunning country garden luncheon

Summer Kitchen

Embrace the Summer Kitchen in the warm months

In warmer months, guests at the Olde Bell can choose to embrace the Summer Kitchen as a seasonal alternative to the wooden beams and cosy nooks of the dining room.

As heavy skies make way for the gentle hum of bees – so too does the Olde Bell transition from a welcome respite from the elements to an al fresco utopia, complete with kitchen gardens, vegetable patches and a charming orchard.

The Summer Kitchen is a celebration of all that is unique to the great British outdoors. A stunning country garden luncheon setting with the advantage of a truly delicious menu.  Guests are invited to relax in the peace of this bucolic spot as divine scents from the barbeque and rotisserie waft temptingly in the breeze.

Opening from May 5th and open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, during warmer months of the year, the Summer Kitchen is a reminder of the Olde Bell’s firm commitment to self-sustenance. The majority of the fruit, vegetables and herbs that feature on the menu are lovingly grown in our pretty kitchen garden.  From mint and cucumber, to the juiciest of tomatoes – passionate foodies are always delighted to hear that much of the salad has been happily plucked a mere stone’s throw from their table!

With a wonderful outdoor bar serving a variety of beverages from chilled prosecco to draught beer and soft drinks, guests will be well looked after and left to laugh, lunch, relax, wander or simply rest, in the sublime sanctuary of the delightful Summer Kitchen.

Alfresco Dining

This “open house” feel is something that can be observed throughout the old coaching inn and its sublime gardens.  As a result,  al fresco dining can be taken to another level as visitors can not only enjoy a mouth-watering feast in our Summer kitchen but go on to savour a chilled glass of prosecco in the privacy of the wild gardens or sleepy orchard.

Depending on the nature of their stay, guests can enjoy many options when it comes to outdoor dining at the Olde Bell.  For casual lunches or drinks, the Summer Kitchen is the ideal place to sample delicacies from the rotisserie, kamado oven and grill. Tables are laid out throughout this pretty garden which is bordered by wild lavender and seasonal plants.

For a special occasion or family event that requires a little more exclusivity, the Malt House is a much loved lodging option that will offer the versatility of both space and privacy when it comes to al fresco dining. Here, the sprawling garden can be used for a wide range of activities from lengthy lunches and evening drinks to croquet or even giant jenga!

With many of the fruits and vegetables on the menu being sourced directly from our kitchen garden, guests will be treated to a truly authentic al fresco experience when they dine outdoors at the Olde Bell.
