What a wonderful summer we’ve had this year. The perfect weather meant that the gardens were in full bloom, meaning the Summer Kitchen was hugely popular with our lovely locals and hotel guests alike.
But now, with a chill in the air and the days drawing in, it’s time to welcome Autumn and turn our thoughts to cozy dinners in the restaurant and sampling of Olde Bell favourites at the pub fireside.
In recent weeks Chef has been hard at work planning his fresh new seasonal menu, trying out new dishes and refining old favourites, and now the time has finally come to start serving up his autumnal feast!
Obviously, we’ve kept all your favourite dishes but we’re sure that the new dishes on the menu will prove tempting too!
Mouth-watering starters include a wonderfully warming Spiced Parsnip Soup with Parsnip Crisps & Curry Oil or Devilled Chicken Livers served with Charred Sourdough. Or how about the Beetroot and Goats Cheese Salad with Beetroot Sorbet?
For your main course, think comfort food! Our Braised Shin of Beef Pudding with Mustard & Parsley Pastry is set to become a firm favourite, with serious competition from the Crispy Skin 12-Hour Cooked Pork Belly, Bubble & Squeak, Carrots & Estate Apple Sauce. For fish lovers, there’s the Asian inspired Seared Seabass, Mussel & Chilli Broth, Pak Choi & Potatoes. And Vegetarians will love our Beetroot and Ricotta Tortelloni, Sage Butter & Parmesan Shards.
When it comes to pudding you’ll need some time to decide on your choice! Baileys Bread & Butter Pudding, Treacle Tart with Stem Ginger Ice Cream, Winter Berry Terrine with Clotted Cream…… the list goes on.
If you’re looking for something simpler, we’ve refreshed our sandwiches and sharing platters to include more seasonal ingredients. If you fancy a sandwich, try the roast chicken & sage stuffing panini or if there’s two of you we have four different sharing platters to tantalise the taste buds!
