How to Plan a Wedding in 4 Weeks

Planning a wedding takes time and can be downright stressful, especially if you only have four weeks in which to do it. But help is at hand, because the team at the Olde Bell Inn in Hurley, Berkshire, have some great tips to help you arrange a fabulous wedding in just one month. Read on!

Draw up a budget

The first thing you need to do is draw up a detailed budget before committing to anything. You should know exactly how much you can spend, so you can save time by booking something you see and like there and then.

Make decisions quickly

With only a few weeks to plan your wedding day, you don’t have time to sit around thinking about your options. Be decisive and choose your must-haves and how to get them right away. It’s also a good idea to co-opt a friend to help you organise the wedding. After all, two hands are better, and quicker, than one.

Choose a date

Pick a date as soon as possible and remember that venues are more often available on less popular wedding days like in the middle of the week or in winter.

Book a Registrar

You have to give notice at the registry office that covers where you live. They will send your paperwork through to the registrar who will marry you if different. It’s always cheaper to marry midweek and in the registry office. Most council websites detail the charges for their district.

Book the Church

There’s quite a lot to discuss with the priest if you’re going to marry you in a church, so make contact as soon as possible. Remember to synchronise the date with your reception venue.

Select your wedding venue

It’s quick and easy to search the internet for venue options. With a five-star Trip Advisor rating, the Olde Bell Inn in Hurley, Berkshire, provides a superb wedding venue and a team of people to help you organise it. This Grade II listed coaching inn is one of the oldest in the UK and provides numerous wedding day options.

The detached Malthouse, once the residence of a former owner, can be yours for the day. How you use it is completely up to you – from a Champagne reception in the private walled garden to cocktails in The Music Room, the versatility of this unique venue is yours to enjoy. There’s also the Tithe Barn which can accommodate up to 120 people. It has a private bar and 5 bedrooms that are accessible from its courtyard.

Because the Olde Bell Inn is a one-stop wedding venue, you’ll save a good chunk of money on deposits. The Inn also has a list of trusted suppliers for things like flowers, photography, music and so on, which means you won’t have to spend time finding them yourself and checking their references.

Invite, or “e-vite” your guests.

Save valuable time and money and “e-vite” your guests. E-vites are completely customizable to tie in with your wedding theme and can be shipped directly to your guests’ inboxes. In most cases, you’ll get RSVPs within 24 hours of sending out the invitations.

Remember to have fun

Treat your wedding day celebrations as a wonderful party that just happens to be the day you’re getting married. This will help you not get too stressed about all the details. Things may go wrong but try to overlook these. After all, you’re about to start life as a newly married person. Congratulations!
