With just under 15 weeks to go until the Henley Festival 2017, excitement is building in the local area! Often dubbed as the “The UK’s Most Magical Summer Party” – this fantastic event will be held between Wednesday 5th and Sunday 9th July on the river banks of Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, which is less than a 15 minute drive from The Olde Bell.
With between 5,000 and 6,000 revellers expected to attend each day, the festival will be a glorious showcase of music, comedy, art and fine dining. If you have never been to the Henley Festival before then you can expect a smorgasbord of visual arts, fashion, street theatre, fine dining opportunities and most importantly – incredible live music! The 2017 line up will include Jess Glynne, the Pet Shop Boys, Chaka Khan, All Saints and so many more incredible acts. Once the headline act has performed the party will be carried on with a late night DJ on the floating stage each evening!
The Henley Festival is suitable for the entire family so be sure to bring along the little ones too. There will be children’s entertainers, musicians, street acts and art and crafts stations to keep the kids happy with lots of opportunity for ice creams and delicious treats! Because there is no camping within the festival grounds, local accommodation books up extremely quickly so be sure to book your room at the Olde Bell as soon as possible. We are located less than a 15 minute drive from the festival, so ideally situated for festival goers.
A new season ticket will be available this year for £199 which includes entrance to all 5 days of the festival – for the price of 4. Alternatively, day tickets can be purchased individually. With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder that this event is a jewel in the crown of the UK’s summer festival season. But don’t forget, accommodation near Henley Festival books up very quickly indeed and the Olde Bell especially. If you would like to secure your room for the 2017 festival then now is the time to book while we still have availability.
Another notable event in the Henley summer festival calendar is Rewind South – a jolly 80’s festival which will be held at Temple Island Meadows between 18th and 20th August 2017. Although there are camping and indeed “glamping” opportunities at this event, the more discerning festival goer may wish to secure a room at the Olde Bell to guarantee a great nights sleep! The Rewind South line-up for 2017 will include Status Quo, Gloria Gaynor, Level 42 and Midge Ure as well as the popular Rusty Egan who will be on hand to keep the party going between acts. Expect bright neon colours, a particularly good gin bar and an electrifying atmosphere!
