The re-invention of the traditional English Inn; The Olde Bell is not a hotel where the rooms dominate, but where the common spaces are the heartbeat of the place. The buildings function almost like a village in itself; the main building for the overnight guests and locals, and the auxiliary buildings for private gatherings. The Inns are engagingly English; we are like a family of individuals, as opposed to an identikit roll out.
Our family of modern day coaching inns was born from our relationship with creative director and designer Ilse Crawford, who defined the concept of reinstating the traditional inn. Ilse Crawford believes that food and environment are essential and inseparable companions, creating a truly pleasurable dining experience. With her holistic approach, she taps into a space’s emotional values and makes them visible and tangible through design, creating environments that can be smelt, heard and felt. Her portfolio includes Soho House New York, Cecconis, Grand Hotel Stockholm and the recent launch of the Kettners, Soho as well as product design for Wastberg lighting. Ilse is also head of department for Man and Wellbeing at Design Academy Eindhoven.
