Dining Inn Tradition
Ilse Crawford’s redesign of the Olde Bell has been praised for its uber luxe yet understated transformation of the old coaching inn – restoring the spirit of times gone by.
Guests will feel instantly at home throughout the establishment and strong emphasis has been placed on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is felt particularly in the ambient dining room where pies and platters aplenty are served, garnished with colourful produce from the Kitchen Garden!
The dining room is a chic but cosy space where solid oak tables are softened by tasteful Welsh woollen blankets and neutral shades of Farrow and Ball. Traditional materials happily co-exist with modern luxuries at the Olde Bell – making it a wonderful combination of the past and present.
With a menu that is devised to reflect the best produce from each of the seasons, guests can look forward to a mouth watering choice of dishes, from old time favourites to lighter, more delicate options that will satisfy the most sophisticated of palates! The use of organic produce is key to the quality of our menus and foodies with a passion for simple living will savour the glorious fruit and vegetable that is grown less than 30 feet from the dining room, in the Kitchen Garden.
For diners wishing to experience a little privacy, the Norman Room is an exclusive area that sits just away from the main dining room and can be used for larger family meals or any kind of private dining requirement. Where versatility comes as standard, the Olde Bell will provide the perfect setting for an almost endless range of occasions – from a romantic getaway to an annual family celebration that requires a little extra space.
